I would absolutely LOVE to have EPL do a Pump division this year, otherwise we will only have one tournament lined up for this year that is close enough to make it worth our while (that being MAO). We have a group located in Central PA that could easily make 2-3 3man teams, and maybe 2 5man teams that would try to attend every Mid-atlantic event, and probably some some North events if there is enough other teams that sign up.
There are what, 3 airball fields at PAPs? so for at least half of the tournaments, the regular play (3 and 5 man) could go on as usual, and instead of leaving the last field vacant use that for pump? Also for pricing, im not sure what entry is anymore for EPL, but i would say the same going rate as the regular 3-man D4/5.
as for prizes, that would need to be determined by attendance. in all honesty, i would just be happy to have some localish pump tournaments to play. otherwise we might be jumping in epl 3 man with our pump guns.

The CFOA has a pretty good format for running pump events. Due to lower turnouts at some events last year, this year they bumped the number of events to 3 instead of 7 like last year. They normally have pump on Saturday and then the regular tournament on Sunday. From talking with the staff some of the drawbacks of this are setting up a day(s) early, and bringing in refs early which cost extra money. But doing it this way allows players that would play on Sunday a chance to try pump on Saturday with no conflicts. This also reduces the number of fields they need to set-up. Entry was around $100-$150.00 and prizes were medals, and paint.
The PSP runs their pump event in one day on a completely seperate field from the rest of the torunaments (prelims, semi-finals and finals). We haven't encountered any problems but if you don't have enough fields or refs this can be hard to do. The cost for these events is $500.00 per team and the prizes are trophies and entry/reduced entry to future events.
The NPPL also has a pump division but over the years but has never been consistent in fields, format, prizes or costs.
We've also played in a few other local pump events and they are normally run pump on the same field(s) as everyone else. But when doing this it can limit the number of teams that can play in all divisions and make for a longer day(s). The entry cost is normally $75 to $100.00 per team and prizes are trophies.
Normally we find local/regional events are 3-man, entry between $75 and $150 per team. Medals and paint for prizes. The numbers of teams have been between 3-5 local and 4-10 regional.
National events tend to be 5-man and $500.00 a team with trophies and discounted entry for prizes. The number of teams ranges from 4-16 teams.
Personally I would say 3-man, format (your choice), I wouldn't do a limited paint rule because that cuts into your profits, I would run it on a seperate day so other teams playing the event can try pump if they want (I know teams in the CFOA do this so they can play the field a day early). Prizes aren't that important to many pump teams, so you could probably get away with medals and I would say cheap entry.
If I can help more, feel free to PM me.

Well said sir..
You make very reasonable points in your post. Thank you.
The EPL would only be able to run 3-man pump events on Saturdays when we host 2 day events due to the costs involved. However It is something that we are going to look into this year. We are still in the preparation stages of the year and we have been discussing pump events. We will release information as soon as it becomes available. In the mean time please carry on with the discussion, I read all of the posts.
Thank you to everyone who has posted their opinions and interests,
Chad

Here is a question...
Even if there is a pump division held at the 2-day EPL North events, would we be able to play with the semis in any of the other tournaments? North/South/ or mid-Atlantic? or is that restricted to PSP ramp only?
