Any changes to rules for 2013?
Iis there an updated set of rules for 2013?
I have the 2012 rules, but I wanted to see if the 2013 rules have been published yet?

Nothing I know of. PSP made the fields shorter again and added four bunkers. Other than that, I haven't heard of/seen any changes for this coming season. If you'd like to be briefed on the rule book, consider attending the CFOA/PSP Referee Clinic February 16. If not, Brian would be the one who would know best I believe.

Any chance we can get orange removed from the protected colors? Psp did away with it a few years back.

If teams would comply and not bring any orange filled paint, it might be doable. Unfortunately, this would also mess up a few teams who bring orange paint to events as then we would not be able to allow them to shoot it.
I wish we could though. I'm a Clemson fan... I like orange as well!

Yes, at least one I can think of. Possibly two. Waiting for further information to confirm two.
Xball events planned for July 7 and November 16-17 at Paintball Central Rockhill.
For a full schedule, look here.

why would you ask a team not to bring orange paint...you lost me on this one...the protected color(s) has nothing to do with what color you shoot...

Sorry didnt reply to your protected colors question...The fill in the paint is protected so people cant wear or have a gun the same color...If I wear all yellow and your fill is yellow its way to hard for refs to see hits...so a color is picked that is protected...in the CFOA's casse it seems to be 2 colors...

because they do allow you to bring your own paint (as long as its sponsored) which the psp does not allow as far as I know. They cannot people from bringing gi or kee paint with yellow or orange fill. Whereas in psp you have to buy from the vendors there and that keeps to only the yellow paint they provide. So no problem with people shooting orange.

Protected colors have a good bit to do with what paint is being shot. If players were allowed to wear all orange and yellow, then it would make referee's jobs incredibly difficult to find hits if players are shooting orange paint.

Protected colors are yellow and orange. They are protected for several reason. One is so that referees have their own color(s) and stand out from the players on the field. Another reason is because the primary paint fill colors are orange and yellow. See above for the reasons behind this.

Nope. BYOP is perfectly acceptable so long as the paint you bring is from one of our sponsors: Kee, GI Sports, or Draxxus/Procaps.

protected colors has nothing to do with the fill in the painbtalls...It is best to use a fill that is the same as the protected color however

Whatever. It can be argued plausibly either way since the reasoning isn't expressly written.
Agree to disagree.

yes but most players would purchase the illegal colors fill to make sure it is more visible than a common white or green fill. Most tournament paint is made to match the colors of the illegal colors.

of course thats the smartest thing to do...as stated above..."It is best to use a fill that is the same as the protected color"
PM me where your team practices at...
edit: this is that statement that confused me wildspinx:
If teams would comply and not bring any orange filled paint, it might be doable. Unfortunately, this would also mess up a few teams who bring orange paint to events as then we would not be able to allow them to shoot it.
its doable if the CFOA releases orange as a protected color..its just that simple...
