imo, it seems like it would be easier to run a consecutive format. that way the three possible games that could be played in the race 2 format are played very quickly, and it seems like it wouldnt take up as much time. if teams are wanting to make the trip to cup at theend of the year and are not use to th format, thy will get a rude awakenig. same thing if they want to move into d4 the following year.

i do however like that we can now shoot our own paint. lets people promote their sponsors more, although the paint last year was awesome

The D5 division will be run exactly like the PSP does. You will play a point and then take a break and other teams will play. Then you will play the next point and so on. This gives rookie teams the chance to gain tournament experience without having to worry about pit management. It is the 5 man format we all grew up on, the same as SEPS and GFOA.

Just for clarification, While D4 is posted on here as Sat/Sun, but is on APPA as Saturday only, it WILL be a 1-day event as long as there are less than 20 D4 teams or there are 2 fields?

Excuse my ignorance (appa points havent mattered to me in quite some time), how do you guys want this to work? What is the goal for teams in regards to D4 world rankings?

Im just not very educated on the topic (i stopped working for APPA prior to world rankings).

Usually you are ranked in what division and points you play! Meaning if you play d4 race to 2 you are ranked against all the other teams that play d4 race to 2. Race to 4 is the same way.

I just got off the phone with the APPA and D4 Race to 3 will play by the Race to 2 rules and world rankings- just with the additional point. There are other affiliates using the Race to 3 and this is the decision the APPA has come to.

Based on the way registration is going we will do it on Sunday. I have made the changes and we are set in stone now.

red drank is most likely out then, we have to many players traveling to do this on sun!! it sucks cause we were really looking forward to the up coming season we might make some but not all.

With all events within 3 hours of almost everywhere in the southeast, where exactly would they be driving from?


Sorry to hear that. We wanted to make sure we kept costs down by ensuring a 1 day event. Because d4 is our largest division, we need to make sure it's a full day and fields together.

You guys are gonna shoot urselves in the foot moving d4 robbie... Your biggest division is what you should be worried about. D3 correct me if im wrong made 1 maybe 2 events last year? You get feedback from your d4 teams that they would rather play Saturday so you move it to Sunday, and possibly lose the teams that supported this league last year... Hope yall rethink what your doing

the issue is not really where it is that sunday was a day to travel back home , get ready for school, or work and those with familys to spend time with them and not cause friction with their home lives. and if it matters i am in middle ga. 3 1\2 hrs from chatt, so any one coming from here with me, it will make it hard to play that day and travel back for the week ahead. but as i stated we will try to make some of the events!

I know I may be an outlier but I'm up at school at Johnson City so Chatt is 3 hours from here. That's fine for Insane events but mainly the Atlanta event kicks me out since it adds 2 hours down so 5 hours back after an event is rough (no telling what time the finals end + traffic).

Saturday is better than Sunday for us as well as we are coming from Memphis TN and Atlanta is mighty far drive after an all day Sunday event then traveling back. Some of our guys even have to go back to work on Sunday night at midnight.
