so I am new to the game and I found a guy on craigslist and I was wondering if he's giving me a deal... he's selling both of his tanks and a halo hopper for good price
.. what do you guys think it's worth?
http://lafayette.craigslist.org/spo/3561263767.html
it's a ninja tank, crossfire tank and a normal halo hopper...

To answer directly: no it's not worth it.
I would highly recommend reading through the first post here if you're trying to piece together a gear bag: http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=3655911
And my 2 cents: be patient and get a good mask (proflex, event, or i4), hopper (worth $100+ because these things if maintained will last forever), and tank (safety here being the big thing, but check the resale values on carbon fiber 4500psi tanks- they don't really lose value, just like the hoppers). You'll be happy having quality stuff that, unlike equipment in other industries, is made to last a long time.

You can find top-dollar equipment barely used on the b/s/t forum here for really good deals. That way once you buy that gear, you'll never have to spend money on equipment again. I see people buy crappy equipment just because it's cheap, than it breaks, and try to put money into fixing it, and then it completely breaks down, when they could have bought decent equipment in the first place, although obviously more expensive than the cheap equipment, will last you a long time, so essentially, you made a good investment.

You think I'm better off buying used gear on this forum than eBay and Craigslist?

Ebay is more legitimate, but either way, PbNation has a feedback system as well so you know whether a seller is legit or not. It all depends on the deal, what you're looking for, condition of gear, etc. Do your research, see what you like, and look around.
