All the new guns look the same, is there a significant difference?
Besides the bob long G6R, seems like most of the new guns out these days are small closed bolt machine guns. Took a couple of year soff, I've always like BL guns my alias is getting a bit beat though. Stick with a G6R or get some like an Axe?

this is probably better off in the versus forum.
but all markers are different at least to a degree.
- feel in the hands
- shot quality
- trigger
- price
- reliability
- if it does break, how easy is it to fix?
- ect.
just with what you said, it isnt enough info, and in the end what other people think is the best, or think you should get doesnt matter, the marker should make you happy/ feel right for you.

Depends on your preference. But since you like Bob Long, stick with them. The G6R is a great gun.

Lol, that's the line above what you just bolded.
On topic : G6R is a fantastic gun, but my personal opinion aside it will come down to not only the things already listed but most importantly your personal preference after trying some.

Intimidators are classic.... When I see someone with a timmy older generation or new I know they have experience... But then again I've never been forced to shoot a particular gun....

I don't think there are any electronic, closed bolt guns being made today.
Price is a huge determining factor for a lot of people buying a gun. See what is popular in your area. Try to test out some of the guns locals shoot. See what your local shop recommends and can fix if you aren't very technical.

Look at the clone VX, clone GT, machine vapor, Ego 11, Cyborg RX, G6R and vanguard for some different looking guns.

John I called them closed bolt but maybe not the right term, how would you describe the newer generation of guns that has the bolt enclosed?

"Enclosed bolt" works for any gun where you can't see the bolt or pin.
Many (but not all) of those guns: Luxe, Shocker, DM, Geo and more are also spool valve guns.
Closed bolt means the gun rests with the bolt forward like a pump gun or Autococker.

Enclosed poppet: ie Cyborg RX
Enclosed Inline: Ie Axe, Victory
Enclosed Spool: Ie damn near every single one
Any type can be enclosed but closed bolt is different as John has said.

If you're looking for a closed bolt poppit the cyborg rx is pretty awesome. The MacDev spools are what i shoot, both Droid and clone VX.
It really amounts to your preference in shooting. If you like bob long then shoot any poppit style gun you can get your hands on. See what feels best for you. I used to shoot angels all day. I have since switched to MacDev and have yet to be disappointed. They're guns are the utmost in quality and performance.if you'd rather a poppit likethe bob long in a different style, I'd go with the 07 cyborg our cyborg rx.
Stick with your comfort zone. If you like bob long, I'd say try out the g6r if you can. If you want something different in the same realm a MD cyborg is the way IMO.just my .02

I'm not set on a BL since G6R's seem a little pricey. I know you can spend $1600 on a gun or $300 for a used gun a couple years old, I'm just wondering if there is actually a significant difference in performance with some of the top end guns these days. I shot an AXE and it ripped plenty fast it seemed, maybe a little more kick. Also the short feed neck/lower profile hoppers (at least rotors, all i got to use recently) seems a little different than older setups but I guess everyone is digging it.

g6r is pricey?!? Look at a g6r and an ego 11, the ego is pricier and the G6r blows it out of the water in every category. You can pick up a used g6r nowadays for around the 5-600 mark and for a poppet, you really cant beat that.

You should just first figure out if you like spool or poppet more, cuz there's a difference. Figure out your preference and look from there.
The newest guns are worth it if you have the money, buying used saves a lot of money just make sure the seller is reliable...but for example, I liked my clone vx more than the gt. The vx used is like 575-650, and a used cone gt is like 900. You don't need the newest gun out there are a lot to choose from.
Hope this helps
