Exactly if some kills some body with a fire arm,do you blame it on the person or the gun.The person would be the right answer, the gun is just the tool they had decided to use to carry out there buisness.

Also, since when has afghanistan had a stable enough government to record such things as murder rate, etc? You think people report murders often out there?

Not to mention you're arguing that it's safer, meanwhile they don't seem to have a problem getting guns.. isn't that kind of shooting yourself in the foot? Shouldn't you be referencing countries that don't allow guns, like Britain?

Oh wait, Britain has a much higher crime rate since they banned guns and last I heard they were moving to ban knives.

My original post cited the media playing up these shootings as the bigger part of the problem, and most people here are too busy arguing with Blake and not giving the idea much consideration.

You were the one who stated the argument to "more violent media and higher crime" which is not the same thing, and I would need examples of this more violent media you are referring to. The article I cited goes perfectly with the point I was making, and with the point of the media being a problem with this situation more than the guns themselves.

Also:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kennesaw,_Georgia

One of the lowest crime rates in the country is in that town, which has a mandatory gun posession (and training of using the gun) law.

What does this have to do with the original statement that I made, which the link and article backed up just fine? This is a very "Bill" like tactic, trying to change the argument. I specifically asked you to even clarify your "more violent media" statement, because everything I am talking about is the media having an influence on these rampages. You asked for evidence, got it, and now want to change the type of evidence you want or the argument entirely I guess.

The media is part of the problem. If you want to ignore the problem, then go for it.

if the media is part of the problem, how should we modify the free market to correct it? or is the free market inherently flawed?

The states have the authority there, not the general government.

I just saw anderson cooper's interview at sandy hook, and magically his nose briefly disappears. This most likely means a blue screen was used. See for yourself:

CNN is no stranger to using blue screen to fake their news, just look at this example when they faked being in a gulf war warzone:

According to many people up here, only Fox lies and CNN is a pillar of nobility. Kinda rofl that some people believe in that.

But what did that have to do with gun control? The discussion died down when the media as a central cause of these massacres was shown.

Adult black males with criminal records and unknown motives in Baltimore are getting rowdy with their handguns.

I hate to say it but, tell me something I don't know.

At least it means high crime areas are less dangerous than we thought for everyone except blacks with criminal records.

That answer depends on whether or not you think pluralism is a good idea.
