I have a Trracer that I'd like to use as a sidearm. My primary would be a Hammer 7 for FS work, but I don't have the budget for a .68 cal pistol and I don't want to use a .43 or .50 cal pistol. So I was wondering wether it would work or not to run a Trracer with an SA-17 mag, short barrel, and a remote line in a drop leg holster. Would this actually work? Any help with this would be appreciated.

If you took the pump handle off, but kept one of the pump handle bolts screwed in, then I could definitely see the Trracer being used as a pistol. However, it would be difficult to recock a Trracer while holding another gun.

I thought of doing that, however I find that sometimes the screw pops out. Also, I have a sling for the Hammer. would it work if I replaced the stock handle with a Tigershark handle?
