I've been emailing Erick at Ident Marking about building me a 6.8. He has everything except for the handguard which really isn't a problem. He said he would order that before he left to go to SHOT next week. So maybe I can get it in a week or two.

16" ARP SOCOM barrel, ARP bolt/Young Manufacturing BC, 11" Troy Alpha rail for 875 plus tax. It was a little bit more than what I wanted to spend but I'm not paying 1500 on ARFCOM or waiting 3 months.

I can't really say until later today when I shoot them.

If you have the measuring tools then it was pretty straight forward for me.



Prepping the case and making sure it meets these specs really. All those 15 we made were in spec with this. They chamber, and eject as well. I used load data provided by the powder company with the bullets loaded. Should be straight forward but we'll see.

How did the reloads work out?


Eric, find me some 6.8 please. All I have is 60 rounds.

Worked like a charm. I reloaded the rest of those bullets and will be moving to subs next since the suppressor will be here soon.

Outfitting my older rifle with some new parts and giving it an overhaul.

What spare parts will you have? I may be interested in a grip and trigger guard.

I have the basic A2 grips I don't use. But I am changing out the handguards and might replace the trigger if I sell this Surefire M952 weapon light.

We took the girls out shooting with us around Christmas time. Although the gun was unloaded and safety checked, I know it's still not the safest to be standing in front of a firearm. The girls just had to have this picture.

LOL if you posted that picture on some firearms website they would ream you. I had to put in my Flickr albums that the guns were all safety checked and sometimes firing pins removed.

I am going to be doing my blog every Tuesday on my website. I figure if I actually do a date to update I will stick to it.
