We've decided on all equipment, pricing, etc, but does this field sound big enough? I'm kind of worried about that aspect. First let me start out by saying were running in a 5500 sq ft building, 3 offices, a lobby, a warehouse and a bathroom. Were going to keep prices cheapish, not overly cheap. But here are some dimensions,

Lobby-Gun rental area and concessions, 14 X 16. 8 ft counter for register and concessions.

Two staging rooms with tables- 10X12 and 10X17

Our office- 10x12

and the field- 40x60, we were thinking kinda like a maze, but urban combat. Also a 10x10 overhead door in warehouse and a mechanical room.

What you guys think? Were iffy.

I think it's way too small. A 2400 sq ft playing field is 13% the size of a regulation PSP field. Customers who aren't paintball players will not enjoy getting shot that close.

That's what we were thinking. What do you think about a 5500 sq ft field itself?

Think its a great idea our local field well one of them is okay not to many play speedball do to it being so small and compact but what your thinking about doing is bigger but our other local field about 20 minutes away from my house has only like a little shed for a entry section and marker rental and paint purchases and air fill up station.They have a airball field,speedball with plastic tubing for barriers,They have a vietnam field which is pretty much woodsball with bamboo,fences,barricades,etc then they have fort ball which is ment for like 20+ PLAYERS but they usally get around 150,200 people on saturdays and they dont have a pro shop.

Are you 5500 square feet inside the netting? If you burned even a couple feet each size on a buffer and you're really 5000 square feet you're really pushing the limits of small as far as field size goes.

Honestly that size of space I'd be more likely to run laser tag. People are just too close to assess hits manually.

My thoughts would be if you are not going to have a pro shop then spread the field out a bit more.Most fields i have been to only use one staging area that can fit a few tables like 3 or 4 with a canopy or something else in it.Most youger players or newer players will play woodsball from what i have seen but you would be better off making two fields such as a airball or xball field then a combat or scenario play field.Also make sure you offer multiple types of paint you will get more buisness that way.Then if you have 2 fields then you will get more service and make it a field paint only facility you can make a better profit that way.If you have any more questions just pm me or post i do not own a field but have been to quite a few.

no matter what you do, its too small.

first off, you would have to chrono guns at like 250fps or lower so no one would get hurt (lets face it, most ppl that would play at such a small field arent paintballers and will cry).

if you use the whole area so that the field is bigger, where will you do rentals, staging, etc? parents will need a place to sit while the kids are playing.

sorry to say, but it sounds like your facility just cant support paintball. you could make a paintball shooting gallery. let kids shoot at targets. make em move, i dunno. but at that close range, its gonna hurt to get shot no matter what. most rec fields have a 10' surrender rule, thats 1/3 the width of your field....

Agrred with that sorry it does sound true as i think about it.Those who are new to the sport will HATE i mean HATE there experince if its there first time or something.But for those of us who are use to it would not really care but i just would not invest in it right now if i were you the sport is kind of dying but its you're decision.The sport is dying so much on saturday it was like 55 and usally at that temp and day theres 150= people but there was only like less than 10 probably 7 people

Hahaha no. Never. Thats like WAY to small. 40,000 sq feet is what i play in when i play inside. I think it was an old curling place

Layout is irrelevent. It's too small. Don't even try it. Maybe a pro shop with a shooting range, but not a field.

I would like to reassure you all that we decided on a 2.3 acre plot of land with 8,000 sq ft. storage facility for our supplies and a 19,000 sq ft building for the field, and 5500 sq ft building for our bathrooms, concessions and staging. The layout map that i attached is kinda the set up but alot more bunkers, (urban is outdoor).

If you post the dimensions, or rough blueprints of your facility, we can help you plan it for the best use (in each person's opinion)

If you've taken 633 N. Military, Green Bay, the 19,000 sqft space for $5,500/month, good job. I wish space was that cheap here! (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada)

Seems like a good property. Two things:

CHECK THE ZONING!!!! Don't just check what it is zoned, but explicitly go to the City and ask them if you can do paintball at that property. We've seen properties we want and would be great only to find there's no way in hell we can use them for paintball. Smaller cities are better for that though.

Get the utility costs and operating costs (property tax and insurance). The utilities on one place we're looking at are $4,700/month (power, gas, water) which is fine, it's 45,000sqft and gets to -40c here, but that's a big number to need to work into your budget.
