To answer the question, you wouldn't be able to finish out 3-man...
The rules are in place to protect the true d5 3 man teams that are just trying tournaments for the first time. If you have decided to step up to 5-man than you are past that beginner level.

He's correct, after talking to Chris at APPA, he confirmed that if a team came in the top 50% or so in D4, they would end up ranked D4 after a couple events. But, if that's the case, it's probably where they belong skill-wise.
A solution if this becomes an issue for more than a handful of people who are good players, yet unable to field a 5 man team might be for us to create a D4 3-man division. It's something I'm willing to do, if there's a real demand.

CTS 2013 Dates are below, D5 3-Man will be played on Saturday's and D4 5-Man is going to be on Sunday's. I'll be posting more details as soon as I can.
April 6&7
June 1&2
July 20&21
September 14&15
November 2&3

I am out for 3 man as most of those dates conflict with my series I am running but that 5 man prize is all mine

Great dates Dave it gives everyone time between events espicially if they are playing in any national events this season.

Generally 3 man is 5 and 5 man is 8 but that could be different for this event. Plus the usual protected color is yellow. But that is up to Cousins Paintball |
