What are the best settings as far as dwell, bolt return, feather touch, eye dely..etc for a vapor with a pooty bolt? I'm having issues with breaking paint and I have tuned and retuned the marker and still having complications. Thanks guys

Just seems like my vapor is hitting really hard nd causing alot of barrel break...more then any gun I've ever shot. My current settings are
Dwell 10
Bolt return 40
Eye delay 7
Feather touch: like 2-3 turns in
Regulator what feels like all the way out To the bottom of the reg sleeve
when i received mine back from machine "ken" it was returned with these settings:
Dwell 10
Return 20
Breach delay 15
Return screw all the way in and then back out 1/2 turn.
not sure where my reg screw is set, just use it to get up to 280 or so.
they work fine for me.
hope this helps...it was also suggested i cut 1 coil off of my eye springs.
from a post by pooty:
"Make sure your inner breach oring closest to the bolt is a size 18...very important. Size 17 that comes stock will act up for sure"
I put a green HNBR in as it is a bit looser than a buna.

isaiah your vapor has already been setup using the tuning guide on the first page of this thread. next time youre at plex brimmer or crover can show you how to change settings but it should be good to go.
we can tighten your asa for you also, its just a couple of screws on the bottom but you have to remove some small asa pieces to get to one of them, if youre not sure i wouldnt mess with it

** sorry I've been away guys, I've been super busy....firearms ID and pistol permits, girlfriend, switching majors (again), and UPS encounters that almost gave me a heart attack (I received an almost 100% destroyed box, nothing inside it. Luckily it turned out to be a jacket I had purchased and not a $1600 marker)
anyway, let's get some questions answered.
If your marker feels a little rough, clean the drivetrain 'till it's spotless and then use a fresh coat of DOW33. Up your dwell into the 12-14ms range and then adjust your pressure accordingly. I also recommend using an under-bored 1-piece barrel in the winter, not only for the best efficiency possible, but so you can run a slightly lower pressure and longer dwell without compromising performance.
I believe that both Ken and I are loc-tighting the tophat adjustments in place. YOU SHOULD NEVER NEED TO ADJUST OR DISASSEMBLE THE TOPHAT!!!! Watch from 6:24 onwards for how I do maintenance after loc-tighting the tophat in place:
I'll have a few more videos coming out sooner than later. I'm waiting for "v3" parts so I can show all of the different revisions instead of making twice as many videos.
As for tightening the ASA, just push/pull the core out and you'll see the two screws from the bottom....video here:
ok so i got a vapor when i air it up no air is getting to the bolt. it airs up then it wont shoot. i took the bolt out to see if anything was getting to the bolt but nothing is getting there any help?

If no air is getting to the bolt, that means you're HPR is turned down all the way, or there's no spring in the HPR, or someone put an extra oring on the tophat which is causing a blockage. Remember, if you're looking at the bottom of the ASA, turn it CLOCKWISE to increase the pressure.

Take the ASA off, and stick a q-tip into the mounting holes to clean them out. clean off the screws with rubbing alcohol and wait for them to dry. Then, put a drop of thread-lock on a toothpick and put it on the frame threads that line up with the ASA screws. Tighten them, but don't torque them down (if you strip them out, you'll be sorry to say the least). The less threadlock you use, the faster it'll cure, so if it's a soupy mess, it'll practically never dry. More locktight does not equal a better connection.
Hi everyone. Having some problems and really love this gun. Best spool i have shot. Here goes. Hi i need some help with my vapor. It seems to be having breech breaks but not just a typical chop. I can clearly hear a smack sound like a slap sound. I have the pooty bolt in it and have changed some orings and did the FT screw trick that you have in your tuning guide, changed the detents and even put a bigger breach oring in the front closer to barrel so it doesnt restrict the ball going through. Any thoughts. This even happens when i just one ball the gun slowly.

That might be your problem right there; that oring is MEANT to fit tightly to the bolt so it seals the breech. without it, you'll be running way too high of a pressure and that will cause barrel-bursts.
Also, what kind of paint are you shooting? There was a bad batch of orange evil a while ago, but it's still floating around.
Not evil but its in cold weather but i had this issue before i swapped out the oring to a size 18. I will switch back the size to a 17. I will try checkin the HPR and tightening the top hat screw and turning it out 1/4 a turn to see if that is the issue. And i will reset the reg to see if it was the hpr? Any other thoughts. Thank you for your time.
