Started in 2009. Got my blue belt in 2011 from Rick Macauley.
I try to go to seminars whenever I can so I've been lucky to train with:
- Tony Passos
- Otavio Souza
- Pablo Popovich
- Roberto 'Cyborg' Abreu
- Drew Vogel
- Andrew Smith
- James Brasco
- Caio Terra
- Vitor 'Shaolin' Ribeiro
I moved last year to a small town and train at a Jorge Gurgel affiliate now and train mostly no-gi. We've got a Nova Uniao black belt and a few tough MMA guys but I miss my old training partners. I pretty much retired from paintball when I started grappling. I may try to play again this spring but training is so much more rewarding than paintball ever was.
This calf slicer is going around the interwebs after Sean Roberts was hitting it on everyone at the BJJ Kumite. My instructor was using it on me last night. It feels like you have the leg drag position but you end up getting caught in this.
I just started about 7 or 8 months ago. Enjoying it quite a bit. Really curious to see how training and paintball go this season. I am currently deployed so obviously cant play paintball not sure how its gonna work out when I get home.
god I hate 50/50. Dont have much experience with it but i got bored with it. We just set one of ours days aside for judo, and so far I really suck at it.
calf slicer is probably a modified version of what i called a calf killer in wrestling season makes babies cry
