If the PSP wants the NPPL to die it could make sense for them to get Valken to drop the NPPL. But if they have to pay extra money to do it then were is their incentive
|
Their incentive is to have a place to sell paint once NPPL folds.

I think the Extorting is the price they are "allowing" Valken to pay to jump on board. It does seem a little odd, because as i read it it seemed like an offer Tony Soprano would make. There probably is more to it, like the lost revenue by allowing a new paint provider? Just spit balling im not an expert.
These leagues have coexisted for so long even with all the BS, they have to find a way to just go on peacefully. Im sure pro teams would prefer another league to look forward to winning if they dont come out on top in the other.

The indoor fields by me use valken paint...I'm sorry but even if they were to come to the psp I would never shoot valken ever. No good.

extortion may bit a bit strong, since it usually pertains to an illegal act, and while it may feel that way it is the PSP's choice to charge one vendor more than another for entrance fees.....they are a private company who can do what they want as far as fee schedules for their vendors.
That said, I think this is a bad move by the PSP, it is fine if you want them to go to an exclusive contract where they can only vendor at the PSP and not NPPL but the extra money is wrong if not illegal.
edit: as to their paint, that really isnt part of the topic here. Some people like valken, some dont and that is their opinions and personal experiences....I have had both average and great quality cases of valken myself, but that isnt whats on the table for discusion here.....if the quality is really so bad compared to the others than the others shouldnt have to worry about them....just keep puting out better paint.

Solid point, but they could just try to get Valken on-board to try and kill the NPPL then drop Valken.
Then Valken will have helped kill the league that supported them

I don't see the problem here. If this is true, all it means is that the PSP offered Valken an opportunity to vastly expand their customer base at national events, and in good business sense, required them not to support a competitor. Extortion is a grossly inaccurate way to describe this - Valken has the right to say no without consequence.

The title of this thread is not applicable to what supposedly occured.
I could call PSP right now and say I want to sell paint at their events. They could reply with, "we will let you sell paint if you pay us 1 million dollars, agree to not ever paint your house, and kick your cat while we watch" Their reply would not be grounds for extortion.

Sad part is alot of the fields out here have switched over to it because they are making it so cheap for field owners.
|
wow, seems you must have a defective marker then ! good business ppl don't switch because paint is cheaper, but because it's just as good or better for a better price. I personally switched because it's what the ppl playing my field wanted as they r the ppl that keep me going. and the price to them was the same !

what it means is they were told it was going to cost one price and then after valken landed the nppl deal they got a call stating their price had changed.

Glad to see the PSP has decided to stop being nice and is finally making some moves to really consolidate the industry and move paintball forward. There needs to be one league and right now it looks like the NPPL is on the edge. Psp just needs to give it a few more pushes and over the cliff it goes......

lol. It's a lose lose for the PSP now(if it's true). Valken is upset because they have to pay more to be included, and all current PSP paint sponsors(like KEE and GI) have to be upset that PSP has a price instead of loyalty.
Suck it greedy *****es!
