We're getting some of that too I guess tonight. I can't even have fun in the snow.
So I'm getting a rattling in my shift nob. It is so obnoxious I want to punch a baby. I need to find a bracket to fit the massive TMIC I have on the turbo side and then I need to reroute the coolant hose cause the intercooler is sitting on it protected only by a thick piece of rubber hosing.
Definitely going to spend some time cleaning up the bay.

The rattling is probably from your reverse lockout cable hitting the drive shaft.

Is it fixable by yourself? I don't need to pull everything out again do I?

Yep, it's just a zip tie, or lack of.

I dunno man. I like the STi all day, and if it was 08+ I would recommend that, but a car that has had an updated model that only makes a little more power than another car you can get brand new, I'd have a tough time justifying it. And warranty. Warranty is a big deal.
Can't really go wrong either way.

Look at Corey's car, that's not a rarity. They blow ringlands a LOT.
I, myself, have owned a 2010 and a 2006 STI. I have personal experience with both. Get the 06, I have no problem justifying it. It's a great car.

would need a lot of work to justify it for me, but then i wouldn't be able to trust the work/owner
new wrx is probably the route i'd go
did i just give a serious answer? that's no good

I'd get an 06 (for SGM) or 07 (for UGM). But I'd probably try to find one with a blown motor and I wouldn't worry about a warranty.
I miss my 06 still.

Balding summer tires in the snow was a bad choice.

Luke, just promise me you can make enough power to beat this car. Ok? Ok.

Oh and I entirely agree. I love hawkeyes and would love to have one. But a brand new WRX? With warranty? Knowing that a simple tune would get it plenty of extra power? I'd go new here.
Reiterating, you can't go wrong either way.

And sti's don't? It was obviously a joke lol. It's personal preference whether you want an evo or sti, in all practicality they are the same.

Have you owned an STI? I can't remember (serious question).
After owning WRXs and STIs, I refuse to spend money on a WRX ever again. The STI is a MUCH better car, but the cost difference is there. Like I said, STI over WRX 8 days a week.
A simple tune on a WRX still wont get you near the feel and performance a bone stock STI will. I used to have that mindset, then I bought an STI.
