You were handling the gun and putting parts together before you sealed it? Not something I would recommend. Best results are going to be achieved by handling the parts the least amount as possible from the time they are preped and degreased until after they are sealed. And the time's you do have to handle it you better have some powder free gloves on (I recommend nitrile but latex and PVC work too).
Also, please refrain from offering to do work for people. If someone wants something done please take the conversation to PM's. It makes my life easier, and I don't have to delete posts and all the other fun stuff that comes along with it. Thanks

Just out of curiosity, is there a benefit to anodizing in a 40 gallon tank if you're only dying in a 5 gallon? My thought process was that all the tanks should be the same size so once you rig the pieces they all stay together throughout the whole process, aside from different fades and splashes. Not trying to start any trouble just curious.

I had kinda of a problem fitting enough cathode into the acid plus a whole gun so I expanded the tank. the 40 gal tank is exactly as wide as the 5 gal tanks are long just alot deeper. So with a 40 gal tank i can do 2 racks at the same time.

That purple. Looks amazing, is it a real purple or is it like the pinkish purple you often see on guns? Sorry if not very descriptive

That makes sense. A bigger anno tank was one of the first changes i noticed needed to be made. An all lead tank would be pretty sweet

Long story short I wanted a hobby that earned a little extra income. back when the economy dumped I went from a 6 figure income down to about 40k a year. While I had some savings it was quickly being eaten up by living the life style I used to have.
A Long time friend of mine has been a machinist his entire life we decided to buy a CnC mill and cnc lathe. After getting the equipment he stuck around for a couple months we didnt make much money making autococker parts. Triggers pump arms eblade buttons ect.I ended up getting stuck with a cnc mill and no training or desire to learn how to do it.
I sold the mill and bought an anodizing line it always interested me and I figured I could learn how to do that. About a month after messing with stuff its pretty consistent now. Its pretty expensive to get into Ive got 400 dollars in just rubber maid containers to hold all the crap.

Just curious but about how much did you spend in total for your entire setup? everyone always says how expensive it is to do it but no one actually breaks down What they spent on it.
