Yes. Outer isolation 8's and bucks. Use a drum pad And play through it. the idea is to build the muscles, not break keys. Keep the inner mallet still, and use a quick torquing motion.
You'll need to work on the motion and isolating the inner and outer motion first. Build that muscle memory, if not you'll be exercising the wrong muscles, and you'll be wasting your time.
