Leaving Markers Pressurized.

So I am new to field ownership and I left a few of my upgrade (envy) markers gassed up over the week. When I came back to those markers they would not cycle. I assume I did something wrong by leaving them gassed up but degassing upgrade markers adds to takedown time. My mechanical tippmann Flip tops do not have a problem remaining gassed but time will tell if this develops into a problem. I have one Tippmann Phenom and it also had an issue remaining pressurized, same refusal to cycle. I brought it home to tool on it and then it worked without even opening it up, Brought it to the field then it didn't, 5 min later it worked. Swapped batteries still no luck, did I mess up the valve? Also, If I went with Enmy not Envy could I leave them gassed up?

The Envy will purge itself to keep pressure from building up on the solenoid. Same thing happened to me when we first got them. I blamed it first on the new compressed air tanks - grin - until I realized the problem. Our entire rental fleet is comprised of Vibe/Envy. We refill the tanks at the end of the day but do not screw them in completely. The next day just a few quick turns and you're good to go. Problem solved.

Yes, the Enmy will remain gassed as it is mechanical.

Yeah, but is it bad to leave them screwed in and pressurized? Bad for the Enmy and Envy?

If you leave them screwed in the Envys, they will continue to purge until the tank is empty. So what was a full tank on Saturday is now an empty tank on Sunday. Which is why we unscrew them just enough to disengage but not enough for the tank to fall off.

You can also put on some cheap on/off ASA's and just turn the air off when they are sitting. They wont purge the tank this way.

Exactly. HPA tanks have a fill nipple for a reason. So you don't have to take the tank off. The problem is you still need an on/off asa. Saves a lot of time though. Leaving the tanks on the gun all the time also prevents a lot of thread damage on the tank regulators, as well as worn orings.

You'd need a Directmount Asa wich is at minimum $40 each

We use only Envy/Vibes.
All markers are cleaned and chrono'd at the end of everyday that they are used. The HPA tanks are left on the markers.
We fill the HPA tanks, the next day, just before use. Never had any problems, like those mentioned above.
The tank is usually never removed, unless the marker needs to be striped down.
Thanks, know I know why the tanks are empty on Sunday, but not always.

this! and you really should leave your guns pressurized. on mechs its ok, but not on electors. its bad for the solenoid.

to the guy who said on/off asa's are at least $40...a quick ebay search turns up some as low as $15, many in the $25 area, and even brand new eclipse ones for $35. so that is incorrect. also, since they would be purchasing quite a few, I'm sure they would be able to get a discount of some sort.

On/Off asa's are the best bet. you can leave the tank on the gun and depressurize them when they get turned in. fill the tanks whenever, and just turn on the air when you hand out the gun.
