Where are you staying? The suburbs are great because every one of them has a rink within a mile of wherever you are. Sometimes 2 or 3. Unless there is little kid hockey practice on one of them you almost always get the choice between a huge pickup game, a few people just messing around, or a rink all to yourself. Just gotta drive around a bit to find the right one.

I'll be in Northfield, I think there's one near the actual ice rink they have there and Carleton sets up a few, IIRC.

Meh, I was just going to get a stick bag anyway, since I could use the handle with my duffel bag's handle and they'll be kept together. I really don't care how I look, I'm just using it for travel and then taking my sticks out when I drive somewhere.

Picked up some roller skates so I don't have to drive/pay to get on the ice...Is it just me or is skating with roller completely different than ice?

I tried it when I went to total hockey for mine and my parents annual wallet emptying. I didn't notice a difference on the ice but they stayed sharp 2 weeks longer than normal sharpening. Im 16 and I've been playing hockey for almost 11 or so years. Just go for the normal sharpening |

Played a game on Sunday. Surprisingly its less chippy and more friendly than all of the non-checking leagues Ive played in. |
