How can I get to the snake quickly?
Does anyone have tips for getting to or as close to the snake as possible and then bumping in? Should I shoot off the break, just run, or try to have my back edge for me?

When we play in a 3 man format, we send two guys to the snake side ( one snake player and one to play back right/left). Off break the sneak runs as low as possible as the back player behind him sends a lane to the other side snake/ back right. And we always get our snake player in there

Well in five mine it should be a mid/back/ and you going to the snake side. The mid and back player can lane over you as you run to the snake

depends on the breakout, if your the designated snake runner head down run horizontally using the momentum of gravity pulling you down, compensate by running fast and then superman in, dont overslide. i usually like to run a horseshoe shaped line to snake to offset some lanes that i checked out before the game started. it always depends on the field layout tho, how many burners your opponent is gonna have on snake ect. half of it is a guessing game, if they are gonna burn 2 or 3 lanes on snake side otb then i would delay at home or a close bunker then run and bump into snake once the lanes stop. its really up to the team on what they decide to do. hope this helped

Running with your head down is some of the worst advice out there. Run looking down the field watching for lanes and where other players are going. That is how you get to the snake alive. If you see paint coming in right where you would be sliding in, stop short at the god bunker, or whatever is around and shoot back. When the lane is clear make your bump. Just running with your head down is gonna get you shot out a lot and you have no clue where the opposing players are.

i mean obviously youre not going to run thru a lane, its just to make your profile as low and small as possible.

I found that even when watching the incoming paint it is still hard to stop and go to another bunker. Also, how do I keep from getting mud stuck around my barrel when sliding in?

as you dive flex your wrist up to keep your barrel from digging in.

When you slide head first anywhere slide with your palms up and kind of curl your hand so that your barrel is slightly in the air and your tank is the only part of your gun that is actually touching the ground. This will keep you from taking core samples

Core samples happen when you slide on the wrong part of your arm. You should slide on the OUTSIDE of your arm, not the bottom. Also, keep your elbow flexed when you dive. This way your gun is raised above the ground. And forget about getting to snake quickly, its safely that counts.
