Ok. So I dont know if this subject is ok to post in this thread but here it goes. A while back one of my buddy's bass guitar broke and he asked me to take it to a guy whom I kinda knew of who fixes musical instruments to get it worked on. A paid professional. So I did. And one thing that he bought up was the major difference between energizer batteries and duracell batteries. He said that for battery powered instruments, because of its ability to be fine tuned, duracell batteries are much better because of its discharge characteristics. When a Energizer battery discharges it will start to discharge a much sooner and the discharge curve will taper off slower for an extended amount of time. When a duracell battery discharges power will be consistent for a very long period of time and then will seem to just suddenly die because of it's quick tapered discharge curve. So in short. Both batteries will last for about the same amount of time but The energizer will go into a slow fade as oppose to the duracell's power being very consistent for the same amount of time as the energizer but then will seem to suddenly just die. I havent really tested this out but seemed pretty interesting. Anyone else hear bout that?

Every battery type has different characteristics but most batteries of similar size and type vary mostly in their mAh specifications. In theory, finding the largest mAh battery that you can fit (of the voltage you need) would be best, however manufacturers don't often state the mAh of common batteries, nor do they state how they test them.

So really it's a crap chute, but I don't know whether one is better than the other.

I could probably be convinced about the discharge curve thing. I've also heard of paintball guns refusing to work well with Energizers and only working with Duracells (think they were all ebladed cockers, mostly e1), so I suppose it's possible.

That said, I usually just get Duracell 9Vs and call it good.

this is complete crap. I have only used energizers in every gun i owned and they work great in any closed bolt gun.

stuff like that is true of different types of batteries (I.e.NiMH vs NiCd vs Li-Ion vs alkaline etc) but among two alkaline batteries I don't imagine the discharge characteristics would be that different.
