new to the site. thought i would contribute. i had my 98 for almost 8 years so i figured its about time to do somethin with it. still needs a few things but practically done

I believe somewhere here or on MCB there is a polishing tutorial. Depending on preference and patience: different grits of sand paper starting relatively rough (maybe 400 grit) and working to finer grips (maybe 1500 grit), scotch brite pads or steel wool are another choice, I have no patience so I used a dremel with different wire brush attachments, takes about 1/3 of the time with a very good finish. Regardless of your choice I still would recommend going back afterwards with a form of polish compound to really smooth it out. Just don't remove too much material off of the shells or bolt/hammer or things won't seal properly.
