Action Camera Settings

Hey everyone...

So I just purchased a Contour Roam2 and am very excited to start using it... I have a quick question for all of you guys recording while you play. Do you prefer recording 1080 at 30 FPS or 720 at 60 FPS. I want to be sure to get my settings right because one of the disadvantages of this camera is that you can't change them unless you are at your computer...

Okay I think I am going to do the 720p just so that I will have the ability of slow motion if I wanted.

Do some test filming around your yard. The clips only need to be a minute or so long to get a ideal of how the settings will work in surroundings.

I got the same camera as a Christmas gift, and from a pod or two that I shot in the backyard I decided to go with 720. As long as you aren't going fullscreen the video still looks great, and the framerate difference is noticeable. At 30fps 1080 I couldn't see much when I shot, but with 720p at 60fps I could easily see the flight of the paintball and watch it hit the target.

I took mine out today just running around and tried both settings. I am going to go with the 60 FPS... I think it just looks better. I also plan on buying a 8mm lens kit for it from RageCams. Look it up if you haven't seen it before. Makes the videos so you can actually see the people getting shot. Pretty cool.
