Either you are terrible at articulating your message or you just said something extremely ignorant.

Heck, I feel more safe knowing that everyone knows not to look down the barrel to see if a gun is loaded. As sad as it is, not everyone who owns a gun knows this.

We already have check systems in place for when you purchase a firearm. What are you arguing in favor of exactly?

I actually think your insurance does cover that.
I'm sure some of you know more about this than I do, so you guys tell me.

while i'd love to agree the NFA has listed some items as illegal. Examples would be machine guns and destructive devices (flame throwers, m203, law, etc.).
Some of those fall into a grey area though. For instance you can own a grandfathered machine gun or m203 as long as you are not using explosive rounds. You can also own a fired law tube as a novality item. I'm sure everyone remember the CNN report showing them at the gun buybacks. The fact that the police clasified those as guns and gave them money still makes me laugh. It would be like someone giving you 200 dollars for a spud gun.

I just think that everyone should have to take Hunter's Safety, and need a license to own a weapon. Just make it a little harder to get one.
I have no problem working a little harder to have the ability to own firearms.

Ammunition should require the same license as well. That puts a ***** in the armor of illegal gun owners.
If you're caught buying ammo or guns for an unlicensed person, bye bye guns.

add more red tape around the hobby of shooting to the point in which a majority of society isn't partaking in their right to bare arms. The day this happens you will lose the right and this is EXACTLY what feinstein wants.
you realize your adding red tape around a right? Think about that just a little bit and then think about the voter ID laws that liberals hated.

And it's already been repeatedly explained; there are inherent risks to freedom that we have to accept if that is the society we wish to have. Furthermore, it's all a moot point considering the number of people who die from other causes. People have brought the numbers in this thread, I'm not going to go back to dig it all up. Go do some reading and educate yourself.

Not really. Just keep your nose clean and take the classes. You obviously have a clean record as you own guns. That's half the battle.
They also make mental evaluations for ATC and Pilots. Those aren't a bad idea.
I just think that working a little harder wouldn't hurt anyone. If it takes guns out of criminals hands Im all for it.
What do you have to hide? If nothing then whats the problem?

Just a little thing called the Bill of Rights, you might've heard of it.
The point is that nothing you have proposed will do anything to prevent criminals from getting guns. If you could come up with an idea that might actually accomplish something then I'm sure we'd all love to hear it. At this point that hasn't happened. The ONLY thing that firearms restrictions will accomplish at this point is to make it harder for law-abiding citizens to get firearms. Nothing more.

why are so many people against voter ID laws then? How about a back ground check to vote so we can see if you've been stripped of your vote due to a felony. Or better yet a 200 dollar tax stamp on your voter registration card. Are you mental stable to vote to where you can make a sane decision? Have you ever used drugs?
This is exactly what's been done to gun owners.

Says nothing of regulation. The Bill of Rights is easily one of the most vague documents.
Like Ive said I have no problems with gun owners. Im a gun owner. But not everyone should be a gun owner. Period.

I agree we should screen voters a little more, but there's a difference between owning a weapon, and voting.

Probably because the suggestions you made would all but destroy the liberal voting base.

OK. However:
It is not the function of the law to regulate promote or encourage responsible behavior.

how so? Dumb voters can kill more people than a gun ever has. The pen is mightier than the sword.

Claiming that I shouldn't be able to own a weapon because I could one day become crazy and kill people, or it might get stolen is not the same as someone who has had their rights eliminated by violating the law/social contract or by having been verified mentally defunct.
