Dear God, talk about a bunch of pessimistic Ebert and Roeper trailer critics.

And I believe the new Ash is in the trailer, I do wish Campbell had been included but perhaps he's too old now.


The movie hasn't been released so you can't claim it has ruined anything until you've seen it.

Bruce Campell's producing it, so it could be decent. But based on that trailer, probably not.

I feel the original was done pretty well, personally, so the claim that it's being done the "right way" is a bit Ebert and Roperish, too, don't you think? Not claiming it will suck - just saying it's not going to be any different than any other cookie cutter horror flicks these days. I would lay money it's even going to be (hold on to something) in 3D!!!!!!

With Bruce Campbell directing, maybe it won't be so bad. But, watching that trailer seems like watching a dozen other "horror" flicks of recent years.

But, then again, I'm very biased. I have a problem with Hollywood redoing all the movies I enjoyed as a teenager and young adult. I wouldn't care so much if they were actually decent remakes, but I haven't seen a remake yet that was any better than the original. (I haven't seen the new Judge Dredd, but I've heard it's decent so we'll see.) I guess I'll have to watch this one too before I add it to the long list of remakes that suck.

Eh, evil dead was still a pretty straight forward b horror movie just with a bit of comic relief. It was evil dead 2 that really blended the horror and comedy.

Campbell is producing, not directing. It's being directed by a South American doing his first feature length. He's also co-writing it with Juno writer Diablo Cody.

I have seen this 2xs now.

They didnt replace Bruce with a woman. His part is still there but they change it up from the original. But seeing the male lead get tossed around made me giggle thinking that Bruce was watching saying..."that use to be me"

I enjoyed it!!!!!!!!!

I liked it. Having been a fan of the original trilogy, i felt it was a fresh take on the classic. Plenty of gore and the dark comedy was still there. If you havent seen it yet, stay for after the credits.
