Then play NPPL lol, sike I see what you're saying. If PSP were to change it to semi, I'm sure a lot of the local affiliate leagues like MAPl would change it too  |

Been in paintball since 2001, I agree there should be a semi' format.

If you want a semi-auto only league, everyone would need to go back to mechanical markers. There has not been true semi-auto since the introduction of electronic triggers.
Uncapped semi-auto on electronic markers promotes cheating guns. There is no way for a referee to properly judge if a gun is shooting "true" semi auto or not. Even if there was, imagine how long over schedule events would run if the refs had to check every "questionable" marker.
A capped ramping mode makes it easy for the judges to do their jobs properly. There is a reason why the most popular, well-run paintball leagues in the world use ramping modes.

Why can't there be a mech-only league? Call it a "special" league for all the special interest groups. Have mech-only, pump only, stock class only, pistol only, mag fed only, etc.

I always thought it would be cool to have an old-school league only allowing equipment made before like 2005 but I think the game has changed too much and any players that would have made those niche options work aren't playing anymore.
+1 vote for semi-auto. Hearing illegal guns and regulating them it isn't as hard as people say it is.

Which brings up the interesting fact that now that everyone is shooting the same bps, you are required to excel at other parts of the game...i.e, movement, communication, etc.
"Gun Skills" are far more than just being able to walk a trigger. It's snap shooting. It's running and gunning. Shooting while reloading.
Having a set bps to level the playing field promotes a more exciting game. Not only is it much easier to run through 12.5bps than 30bps uncapped, its quite a bit safer. |
