Well there hasn't been any mention of this in the past few weeks. I am doubting that this field is going to happen

There's hoops to be jumped through for opening a field like this. Lots of them. Good things take time.

I'm guessing he needed to make a popular thread for pursuit or something and never had any intentions in actually building a field.

Except that he doesn't appear to be playing Pursuit. A lot of times, there's a great plan for something that runs into a terminal snag along the way. Zoning, fire code, funding falling apart, location not panning out, there's dozens of things that can go wrong in the process of putting together a field, especially an indoor. My own plan for something like this had that happen. I had a great location lined up in an area that has no indoor facilities, at a crossroads of two major highways. It was roomy enough for a decent field, or two CQB type fields. There was space for a pro shop and player lounge, as well as an observation deck area. When I ran the numbers, and found out I'd have to run 800 players a month, every month, through the facility just to break even (and that was with me and a good part of my family working for free), I shelved the project.

Damn 800 ppl that's a lot. You should work on that credit score to get a better interest rate.

That's what I said! The 800 people figure came from the expenses (building lease, utilities, insurance, maintenance, etc) balanced against the income from players (field fee/air/paint based on what numbers I've gotten from various fields). When the numbers don't work, it doesn't pay to jump in and lose everything in pursuit of a dream or idea... surely not when there's a large family involved, too.

Scout is right, indoor is very costly and virtually impossible to make successful. He had good intensions but once you count the cost it likely didnt add up. Lets keep BrewCity hopping!

I think he had every intention of opening this field, (like PumpScout said) but has run into some difficulties. Hopefully this field will be open next season.
