Firing Cans
Hey guys, just wondering something. Im running an eigen bolt with a stock non HE can, and its working great. Why is the non HE a better can than the HE can? The HE can has 4 inlet holes between the front two outer orings, and the non HE only has one. Wouldnt the HE be better because its more ported? Just wondering which is better and what makes them different.

The non-HE actually has more volume because the can is 1-piece vs the 2-piece design of the HE can. The HE can needs to come apart to get HE style bolts out because they have an additional o-ring creating a seal, that the Eigenbolt does not employ.
Adding more ports to the non-HE can may give performance gains. If your shocker is a sealed-body, you can hack the stock can apart to increase the firing chamber volume even more.

Honestly, I think porting on most PB markers is pointless.. Look at where the VA attaches, look at what the air flows through to feed the marker there.. Opening up the porting into the can won't do anything since the air gets bottlenecked at the VA..
If I had the ability I would actually reduce the amount of porting for the cycling of the bolt, so that there would actually be less air used per shot to cycle the bolt. AND it would cycle smoother.

You open that too bro, an IPR kit will allow you to safely double flow to the noid. Then you high flow the manifold and vent the selonoid block and qev your bolt, with a good amnt of volume you won't find a smoother gun.

and it would be less consistant. less force pushing the same or greater bolt resistance would reduce consistancy(I say greater because a reduction in cycling force would need an increase in hpr pressure to balance out, and therefore an increase in bolt resistance.)
also, if you want to reduce the amount of porting just push epoxy into the existing holes that you want to fill, its really that simple.

ccluff, would I be better off with one of your IPR's? is an IPR a better alternative to porting? and will you be selling more of them?

An IPR is not an alternative to porting. There is not much reason to open your porting (highflow) without an IPR, qev, and noid vent.
