Sounds like you may need a tighter fitting rear guide o-ring.

Rear sleeve ring IMO

Got the bolt yesterday. Installed it...it wasn't as loose fitting as the manual says but it fired fine in the back yard so I wasn't so worried. I forgot to check the bolt but hopefully the coating isn't scratched because of it not being as loose as the manual says. I had the dwell set to 10ms and the gauge was around 140 psi. Shot fine...you do get blasted in the face with air...hehe....hopefully I can get to the field this weekend to chrono and really test it out.

It won't scratch from tighter fitting rings and they will loosen up as it breaks in.

Just got my Eigen today , but after putting about 2k out of a 68/4500 twice, I noticed that the ring just in front of the oring on the bolt is hitting the can pretty hard and wearing a thin ring on the firing can. I can't take pics now, but hopefully you know what I'm talking about.
Is the wear normal and anything to be worried about?
EDIT: Other than that, everything is perfect.
EDIT2: Stock NXT everything, but Hybrid bolt guide and Virtue board.

@tyroneejk: I was looking at the Shocker manual and it shows that the bumper o-ring is supposed to be of 90 durometer hardness. Are you using one that hard?
EDIT: But, then again, I don't think the Eigenbolt using a bumper o-ring...does it?

Yep, no bumper on the Eigenbolt. So is this wear normal? Or is something wrong with the seals so the air bumper is working properly?

Interesting. So, air is used to cushion the bolt impact? And, this is a better way to do it than the old bumper o-ring? Looking at tyronejk's example, the can (and I'm sure the bolt) are taking a beating. Over time, I would imagine that this would cause the front lip on the bolt sail to crack and fail. I'm not trying to cause a fuss, but after buying 2 of them (they're on the way), this does cause me to worry a little about my investment.

The air cushion is supposed to be softer than the oring bumper. I'm trying to find out if my situation is the norm.

I have my dwell set at 15ms and pressure at ~115psi, specifically for the break-in period. I don't know what it's chronoing at; I just lowered the pressure to get more shots per tank.

Would that make the bolt hit the can harder, since it uses an air bumper?
