Im just now wanting a pump for the summer and wondering what the best cheapest starting pump. Does anyone have any ideas? I normally play airball but want to save money during the summer. Thank you!

This is perfectly correct. But make sure you get the single trigger. LIFESAVER!

My personal opinion: go on ansgear.com. They have a special edition azodin kaos pump. It is black/gold. Which is pretty freaking cool. But it also comes with an on/off ASA, an upgraded regulator, and the single trigger frame. All of this is already installed. You can get this on ansgear.com for $199.95.

My opinion would be a Sniper (converted cocker), but I haven't got to play around with the Kp yet either... :p

I agree with Smith. I'd go with an autococker with a pump kit

I am always going to say CCM because it's a gun you can pretty much turn around to sell if you dont like pump and most of your money back. Plus it gives you a real feel of how a quality pump gun function.

Now, I am also a realist and realize people wont go out and drop $600 to try out pump. If I were you I would ask around your local field and see if anyone has a pump gun you can use for the day (shoot to find a CCM if possible). I would agree with most that say an autococker pump is probably your best bet for cheap because it probably is. Unfortunately most converted autocockers don't have an auto triggers (usually because AT kits are pricey) and some people leave double triggers on them which I don't get at all (for me it makes the gun unstable when pumping).

Here is usually where pump discussions get messy and people disagree. I personally don't enjoy pump as much without an auto trigger and require it on any pump gun I own. You will not shoot super fast with it but it helps drastically when you are trying to catch someone on a run and don't want to double feed on accident, leading to paint blowing up in your barrel. It also helps if you practice double tapping to ensure those kills, which I recommend.

Long story short, I don't believe there is a good answer for you only to find what fits you best as a pump player and see what your local field has to try out. I offer you my opinion on what fits me best as a pump player but whatever you decide to choose, I hope you end up enjoying pump.

Why do we need to bonus ball every player we eliminate?

I totally agree with ncervantes with the Auto Trigger function. I have a Sterling pump and it works AWESOME. Sterling's are a great guns because they are simple and have an internal AT. Over the last 2 months there have been 4 that sold on ebay for $75 - $150 and you can always easily resell the gun if you don't like playing pump.

I would suggest a Phantom. They are great guns, you can pick up a basic one for about $100 or less. And if you enjoy it, they are a great platform to build on. Very simple, very reliable.

I wouldn't say every player. What I meant was I usually double tap when I am running in to bunker someone (typically tournament play). Believe it or not, I have missed bunkering someone. It really sucks when you think you shot a person, only to get shot in the back because you either missed or the ball didn't break. If it's someone I catch on a snap shot, it's pretty easy to tell if their hit and I would see no need to shoot them again (unless they try to wipe ). I hope that makes a little more sense.

I would totally second this. It's a great pump, although it's geared to more woodsball/milsim style play. However, it's still great as a speedsball gun. It's very customizable, can be either open class or stock class, has pretty good effeciency, and is very lightweight. It also comes preset with an autotrigger that is pretty smooth. Also, it's autococker threaded so there's a bazillion aftermarket barrels for it. They're $125 new, but I pick up a used one of the BST for $65, and some are going for even less now. Great gun, I would very much recommend it.
