This allows for slight swelling and inconsistent ball sizes from manufacturing. you lose some efficiency but gain back consistency and no breaks.

I find having the full range inserts on my Freak allows for this type of sizing. My friend has only three barrel sizes, .682, .689 and .693 so it is not practical in his situation.
this is wrong.

Get a .003 underbore (w/e your local paint is), a .684, a .689 and you should be fine. Use the under bore whenever you can, match otherwise.

I have used a .684 for the last 5 years.
Paint has gotten smaller since 2007.
Larger bore is only usefull for humid states.
But .692 or higher are almost unnessassary altogether.
If a paint is produced closed to this size, it's a bad batch.
I may be wrong, but almost all paint is now .683 or smaller.

Most paintball manufacturers overbore their stock barrels. Only 2 possibly conclusions as to why? 1) to sell more aftermarket barrels 2) because it is more accurate.

I know Luxe and a few other high ends come with freak sizers or their companies equivalent, but many don't either.
