@soaggbrah, If HSP offered better paint do you think people would complain as much about not having BYOP?
From what I read the paint prices seem more than fair but the paint is horribly maintained. Over here on the East coast BYOP doesn't exist anywhere worth playing and you are paying at least $70 for decent-average paint per case.

It would be more understandable if this field was on the east cost then, where paint is more expensive, and there isn't a lot of fields that have BYOP
Not to mention that giant has parks that are BYOP, why is this one so special?

No need to be sarcastic. I'm only asking a question

They probably make their money on the other two field and just have HSP just for Rec. for starting players...looks like they don't care for us Speedball players.
I think we should get some Rec player feedback. See if they have gotten the same affect as us speedball players.
Either HSP makes changes to its field or this thread was a joke n a lie from who started this.

Honestly, I don't think that they have to go as far as byop (it would definitely be appreciated), just take proper care of the paint that you supply & provide good customer service.
If you do those two things, most of your customers will be happy.

My two pesos on this situation.
I live literally fifteen minutes from HSP, but haven't been there ever & based off of the comments here, Yelp, & basically everywhere else that has mentioned HSP, it'll stay that way & I'll take my money to SC. Safety is obviously the first priority & if a simple cleaning is unnecessary to the field then I guess my business is unnecessary as well. A stake in the ground? Basic lighting? How is this acceptable for a field?
BYOP is pretty important to me, but if this is unrealistic, I'd have no problem with dropping some cash on some QUALITY paint. But, paint sitting for months? An employee saying they don't even remember when the paint got in? C'mon.
All in all, I've thought about going to HSP based on the distance factor. Carson to Bellflower is roughly 15 minutes driving. But, it seems like SC Village invests in itself as a business. HSP should follow suit. Until then, find me in Chino.

Yes, they do. But HSP is basically the skid mark on the underpants of Giant Sports. SC is just the dirty tshirt. Giant as a company need to clean themselves up. It's only logical they start with the dirtiest article of clothing first.

Interesting way to describe things...CPP is also owned by Giant and they are running a more than fair park. Which brings me back to why HSP won't act like the other Giant parks.

I think it's because all these other "Giant" parks, were once owned by decent field owners. Giant bought them during a down economy, and basically kept it status quo.
The only parks I've been to (excluding SC) which were strictly Giant, are HSP and Giant Costa Mesa. Costa Mesa was just HSP south, which is why it was such a mess.

You are absolutely right about that. The other giant fields all have their original owners who put their blood, sweat, and tears into their fields. SC, HSP, and Giant... not so much.

I just spent a few minutes to read over this thread and I can agree with most.
I've only really started playing paintball for the past 3 months and I have complaints myself.
1. Yeah, BYOP. Why? I'm not going to be shooting old paint through my GEO 3. The paint you buy at the store sucks. I actually haven't bought giant paint since I got my new gun, but I'd much rather buy my Evil paint at Extreme Pro's than at HSP.
2. Oh God the field...
Its a mess that needs to be cleaned up really badly. I understand its big, but why not shut down for a week and clean all that crap up? I bring friends and family and the moment we even lean on walls, the old gunky paint gets stuck on our gear, and that becomes really hard to remove. Not only that, but there's also the fact that I have almost lost my shoes multiple times in stockpiles of paint.
3. Speedball: I want to play Speedball. I've played it once at SC and I absolutely loved it. I honestly think I'd see more people at HSP if there was Speedball.
4. Refs: The refs haven't given me a hard time... even when they thought I was ramping in the field. But I don't really notice them much, and I hate when they complain about getting shot. I mean... common... you're getting paid to be a ref... and you're not expecting to get hurt at anytime? Especially with the terrible paint thats being given to customers, you should expect to get hurt. Don't complain.
5. Rentals: I know I shouldn't be complaining about things like this since I don't use rentals... but damn. I always see a new players gun jamming up all the time and I actually spend my time to fix their problem mid game. Yes... I take my allen keys in and I fix a jam. At least once per visit this happens... You need better gun techs, and just better guns in general. And thats not the only thing... but the masks provided suck. Using non-thermal lenses would only give your customers a terrible time with the fogging. The first day I got into paintball, this almost made me not want to play.
This is my closest park. Its such a shame that a park like SC Village is so far away. It takes me roughly 15 - 20 minutes to get to HSP using Fastrak/Metro lanes from West Hollywood. SC Village takes me around 45 but theres also the factor of fuel being drained out of my car driving to those parks. I would much rather drive to HSP than SC just because of the distance.

Yeah I forgot to mention those rentals as well... We're trying to promote the sport and it sucks that our guests have to use such crappy rentals. Dude I know it's about making money and keeping the park open but come on where is the customer service at?
The customer service at hsp is bs just like Bear's responses to this thread he started himself.
