They both operate the same. Laser is just visible in the breach. I myself use the standards and have had no problems.

imo the laser eyes are pointless, no one going to see them and theres no preformance difference, spend that extra money on entry fee or something useful.

I read somewhere that the laser eyes can reflect off of some paintballs and mess up. is that true?

Completely possible but the fact is they are break beam. The only difference between standard and laser is that you can see the laser. They operate the same and function the same

standard and laser eyes have the same function. it uses an infrared LED similar to a remote control and a tv. the remote sends a signal to the receiver in the tv and changes channels. in a paintball marker, one sends and one receives. once the signal is blocked, that info is sent to the board saying the marker is ready to fire. for laser eyes, its the same thing but with a colored LED diode. laser eyes just makes your marker pretty that lights up like a christmas tree. there is NO preformance improvement whatsoever between non-lasered eyes and lasered eyes.

I agree 100%, save your money, get the cheaper set, install, mow faces.
I believe 187 sells the standard 4C eyes. I bought a few replacement sets from him a few months back with a fast turnaround time. Worth looking into.

I heard that laser eyes are way more battery efficient compared to the standard eyes, not sure if it’s true though.

It is a difference in what wavelength of light is used with the LEDs. With the lasers you can say "pew! pew! I'm shooting lasers!"

...No.
The only difference is the laser eyes use a visible wavelength. That's it. Neither is better at picking up paintballs (you're thinking of bouncebeam eyes like old Shockers and Ebladed cockers used which had trouble with dark shelled paint for the reason described) or more battery efficient (at least not noticeably).
