Gen 4 Timmy Velocity Issue - Lurker Poppet
Nation-
Installed a lurker ram and poppet in my Infamous today and she won't chrono over 260 (usually around 230). Fresh Orings on the ram and poppet, lubed properly with Dow 55, checked pressures with Ashcroft gauges, tested battery on tester and tried a new one, set board to stock (Virtue Board), and bore matched paint. The HPR was set at about 280, and according to the manual that is the top end. Ran the LPR from 60-80, and even squeezed off a little higher and lower than the limits on both ends as well. Gun ran perfectly before the introduction of the Virtue Board and Lurker Poppet today, and I don't think it could be the board as the dwell is set to 10. Has anyone else seen this issue? Is there something I'm missing, or is the poppet really the only issue. Thanks guys...and Gamer...thanks to you ahead of time. If Lurker has any thoughts on this issue as well, that'd be great! Thanks!

What spring? Dwell 12 may help since virtue tomes their boards differently. It's probably a spring thing I can sort out

Yeah I will try a dwell bump and I'm running the spring that came with the ram. The clipped and lighter tension spring.

Yeah I was just going off the range the gen 4 manual gives...200 to 280. And yes it is the Eigenram spring in there.

I had the same problem, no matter the dwell, lpr, and hpr, couldnt get it above 240. ripper 3, eigen ram, new lurker valve (and spring), tadao oled, orange bolt, aka lpr and hpr. it ended up being the bolt...took orange bolt out and put my hardhsell in worked like a champ. Maybe was too light of bolt coupled with the lighter ram and new valve...?? Not sure...but it works now and thats all i know. So what kind of bolt do you ahve? and also, try shooting without hopper one ball at a time and put hand over and around feedneck to seal it off..maybe you getting blow back? if nto try a different bolt anywasy...jsut to see what happens. only other thing I could think of is check your detents..sometimes they're worn or stick and ball can roll forward away from the bolt and cause a drop in velocity...very rare but I've had it happen. Only other things I could think of is try a different hpr, or even asa...maybe a flow issue. ck noid hoses for kinks/leaks, may not enoguh force/lp flow to hit poppet hard enough..kinda thinking outside the box here...but still possible.

Yeah all great thoughts...it does have a pillow bolt in it, but I'll try the stock bolt. I've tried a different HPR but not an Asa, however I haven't had any issues like this before installing the new poppet. All things were the same prior to this. Also tried bumping the dwell this morning and that made no difference.

Solved the problem by clipping1.5 coils off the Eigen spring. That is about how much it was longer than my other Eigen spring that wasn't giving me issues.

Awesome. Sorry about my inconsistency, and for a self made man. LMK if you ever want a spare or replacement.
I need to cut them separate for stock and eigen poppets, since the eigen poppet closes itself.

No worries at all! I don't mind doing a little mod work to get things working properly. Thanks for your help and your always fantastic CS Lurker! I'll be hitting you up with another order again here real soon...just a heads up :-)
