DM 12 Out of the box Requirement

Hello I am new to PbNation and have just gotten my first speedball super gun the DM12 and I have already been told i shouldve gotten another gun due to some of the maintenence required on these DM12.

Now am i supposed to do anything to get the gun set up straight out of the box besides taking the bolt out and lubing the O rings (I am using SLEEK lube)? I just want to make sure I dont mess the gun up and get the most out of it.

Thanks for any info on this

Lubing the bolt is about the only maintenance you will really have to ever do. As long as it works don't touch it.

People have issues when they start messing with other things on the gun.

Don't touch any settings, chrono the marker using the HPR to ~280FPS. Lube the bolt before a day of play, and change the battery if you are having issues. After you shoot about 10-15 cases you can turn down the LPR a bit to give a smoother shot.

The maintence on the DM12 takes like 5 minutes, so easy a caveman can do it

Whoever told you about the "maintenance issues" is full of it.

1) read the manual
2) read the manual
3) get an extra set of o rings
4) if it ever leaks, relube the bolt sail o ring and try it again, that'll fix 90% of all problems
5) read the manual
6) if there is something funny going on electronics wise, replace the battery
7) if something goes wrong look in the trouble shooting guide in the manual... it's actually pretty good.
8) read the manual

As I am a first time owner of a DM 12 I have an appreciation for your guidance.

So. As I understand. Read the manual? <grin>

Yea the trouble shooting guide in the manual is really good. I had a leak out the front of the bolt, and it said to switch out the inner blue on the tophat (it has some other suggestions as well, but I only change one thing at a time when doing trouble shooting)

That fixed the problem right away, and it was one of the only orings I have had to change all season. (4 local events, 1 PSP, and practice every weekend)

A low battery will make it do really funky things so if you have an issue but can't out your finger on it try a new FRESH NAME BRAND battery first. Some bargin brand batteries put out less than 9v so stay away. If a new battery doesn't fix it relube / consult manual and try again with the new battery.

When in doubt replace battery and/or re lube it - that solves 99% of problems .. and as stated before don't mess with it too much

Here are some other videos explaining the DM12 in depth. Only perform these steps once you are more comfortable with the gun.
