Yes it differs. Last I checked, GI Sports/Pro caps, Nelson and us(Kingman) are the only companies selling 50 cal paint for field use. Kee has their splatmaster paint but I'm not sure if that is 2000 round cases or their canteen.
you being in Wisconsin your best is either Nelson or GI. I'm not sure if Nelson or GI is closer to you. Hope this info helps.
