Since this is my first time removing/installing a regulator for my tank, I have a very nooby question:

I managed to unscrew the regulator from the tank using my hands. Do I need to loctite to screw it back in?

Also screwed the regulator back in using my hands. Is there any concerns with this? Or should I use a strap wrench to make sure its more tight?

While hand-tightening can be sufficient (theoretically when aired up, the pressure should keep the bottle from unscrewing from the regulator), I personally would recommend taking it to your local shop to have them install it properly so they can torque it to proper specifications. My shop did this for $10, so it isn't that expensive.

At your level of experience with tanks, hand tightening is not sufficient.

Strap wrench for sure.

Strap wrench as tight as you can get it, they don't require an enormous amount of torque. They are surprisingly low. It's really just over hand tight.

I just did this today and hand tightened the reg, then gave it a good extra bit to make sure. As long as there is no gap between the bottle and the reg, and your oring is on the threads to seal the bottle and reg you are good.
