As for local paintball in Penticton, there is nothing.
For about 12 years, Jack and Barb Sevy ran Action & Adventure Paintball, an outdoor field down south by Skaha Lake, just as you are heading south out of Penticton.
It was completely rec field built on sand, with bark mulch over top. Plywood bunkers like cable spools on the main field, although a small airball field was purchased and set up shortly before closing.
They used to have a fleet of Trracer pump markers run off CO2, before upgrading to PMI Piranha semi-autos with 3000psi 48ci steel HPA tanks.
However in 2008 the real estate company decided to double the lease for the property the outdoor field was on, unlike residential rent increases which can only be a certain percent over a certain amount of time.
A&A Paintball was not willing to pay such a high lease so they moved to a new location; the Adidas Sportsplex, and began operating as Action & Adventure Paintless Paintball, with a complete speedball layout, a brand-new Italian diving compressor capable of 4500 psi fills, and actual name-brand Reballs.
This was a perfect venue as it was a covered, indoor soccer arena with artificial turf and everything was brand-new: concession stand, bathrooms, change-rooms, a spectator area and plenty of parking.
However the SOYSA (South Okanagan Youth Soccer Association) did the same thing that happened to the outdoor field; they asked for double the lease rate.
So Jack & Barb moved out and tried a new lease agreement with the Penticton Curling Club, right beside the Visitor Centre and Rec Centre.
However because it is a curling club, they flood the floor and make ice from fall to spring, so no indoor reball or paintball in Penticton right now
