Tuning Question
I started tuning my dm 13 the other day, and while I was reading the manual it said to start the dwell at ten and raise it until the bolt starts firing. So I did just that and while my dwell was at ten (the hpr and lpr are still stock mind you) the gun fired just fine. Then I put some paint in the hopper and started chrono-ing the gun. I started raising the dwell until I reached 295 +/- 3 fps(without adjusting the hpr or lpr). Now the dwell is set at 14. So my question is does that sound right to anyone everything I have been reading about dwell for dms is it should be around 18 to 24. It was extremely cold out when I was doing this (5 °F). I thought I would have a higher dwell with it being this cold or am I thinking backwards here. Any help would be appreciated.

honestly i would just set the dwell to 21 or 18 and tune the lpr from there. its a lot easier and you will get the smoothest results out of your dm.

From experience I have to say lower dwell, isn't always the best I havent seen a dm perferm well on anything under 18 dwell,
try 21 dwell 3-4 turns on LPR

I actually didn't know that! Thanks for the info, I have been wondering why my DM is acting a fool on me..

I've had my DM12 since early September and have probably put close to 30 cases through it including events and practices. I have not touched my LPR/dwell. The only thing I've done is removed the bolt system for maintenance. Shoots like a beast.
