So, i had my friends old 45-45 crossfire tank re-hyrod after it sat for years. It passed, we filled it up and used it all day problem free. I get home and remove it from the gun, so i fire a few shots and suddenly all the air starts rushing out from what seemed like the burst disk. i was at 3800 PSI and emptied in under 10 seconds. I removed both the burst disks and one of them is blown. Any ideas as to why this would happen, is it something i can just replace and continue use or should i replace the whole reg?
It should have been the 1.8k disk. Make sure you get the 7.5k in the correct port, putting it in the LP port creates an extreme safety issue.
You're going to have to send it into crossfire for a rebuild. The older regs aren't meant to be user serviceable and if the burst disc blew then a seal is worn or damaged in the reg and allowing the reg to be exposed to 1.8k psi. That's why it blew.
Hmm..neither of these are labeled on the body or the disk as far as a numerical value. Will the new crossfire stealth regs be compatible? If so ill just spend the 30 on a new reg rather than sending this one out.
Correction*** It was the 1.8 not the 7. It is punched in the brass just below the hex head so i didnt see it.
