Being made a movie. Will be out November 2013. Everything I read in that article makes it sound fantastic.

Oh, and Harrison Ford as Col Graff

If they **** this up, people will die. Seriously. I can't think of another sci-fi series with a more fanatical following than this.

Read the article bro. Card is very involved. They're also combining Ender's Game with Ender's Shadow. Risky and a lot will probably be glossed over, but this could be epically good.

I'm disappointing in Ford's casting. Don't get me wrong. I think he'll do great, and the movie looks promising for once... but I've always ALWAYS pictured Clancy Brown as Graff.

Without Brown it just doesn't feel as perfect in terms of casting.

As much as I like Ender's Game, I'm not paying money to watch this. Card is a true piece of ****, and his involvement only means the movie will suffer for it.

The fact that they're not using kids kind of ruins the movie. Ender's Game would not have been a very good book with battle school kids starting as teenagers. The whole point of the book is that earth is so ****ing desperate that their fate rests on finding a child genius that can dedicate his or her entire life to fighting the buggers. I get that they can't find child actors good enough to make the movie, but they should have figured something out.

The "Battleroom" scenes are pretty much like Zero-G / 3 dimensional tournament paintball.

"Why Dragon Army?" -Ender

"Because we already have the uniforms." Graff.

I was reading the reviews. A lot of people complaining about the length of time the "battleroom" was used in this movie. Its a major part of the book. It kinda of disappoint me. Still want to see it.

I was talking to a guy who worked on the special fx over the weekend, and apparently the movie was originally 130 minutes long. The studio wanted it cut down to 90 minutes so it would be an easier sell on opening weekend. The director apparently refused to cut it, so the studio got their own guy to do it.

Yea, now I'm not sure I'm even going to go see it. I may just wait and see if they release an extended director's cut on Blu Ray.

That's interesting.
I actually really liked the cut and how focused it was on the main character. It seemed like even with all that was missing from the book the story was very understandable.
That said, I would definitely watch a longer version if it came out on Blu Ray.

Oh, anyone else stay for the credits?
There's no after-credits sequence but the fact that they used a brand-new Flaming Lips song made me very happy.

First time I saw it all I could do was compare it to the book and didn't really enjoy it. The second time I knew what it was going to be and could appreciate the movie more and focus on it better. A lot of the issues I had had with the first time I saw it were resolved after seeing it a second time. It's definitely worth seeing again if you didn't like it because you were comparing it to the book.

The only real issue I had with it was how they handled the Peter/Stilson/Bonzo angle. I don't think Ender was vicious enough in the fights in order to really play into the "killer/win the fight once" idea. Peter also needed a little bit more screen time to show his nature and how Ender doesn't want to hurt/kill if he doesn't have to. I also felt that the third act gave away a little too much too early, but the scene with Ender and Graff after the final battle was amazing.

Go see it and I hope you enjoy it!

I haven't read the book but thought the film was terrible, the concept and idea was good (which I guess will have come from the book) and the special effects were good but the acting was poor by pretty much everyone and generally a massive let down.
