Empire sniper questions

Just got home with my NIB empire sniper. I have a few concerns, when I pull the pump back and let go of it, it wont return all the way forward on its own. Does it need lube? Is the spring weak?
Also is there a thread on tuning? Is it worth trying to drop the operating pressure from 225 to a little lower?
Thanks guys!

It may need something as simple as a touch of oil on each bolt o-ring. Start there. These guns often have a fairly strong return spring, in my experience.

Do you usually lube the pump handle stem (not sure what to call it) the thing that the handle slides on?

If its the return spring for the handle you can stretch it. Thats what I did to mine. Or get a spider main spring.

I'm a little surprised, but I suppose springs can be duds, too.

May need to put a second spring in to guarantee a full return

So streatching the spring worked... for about 1500 balls... now same thing...
Ive googled springs and i see i can get a direct replacement for $5. I also see you can get a polished pump handle guide. My question is, is this worth it? Also does anyone have any links for other aftermarket springs or parts?

There's a pretty good chance you just need to do something simple to it, but without feeling it, I'm having a hard time determining what. Your pump arms could be bent, your detent may be too stiff, there could be binding somewhere. Try taking the return spring out, reassembling, then check the stroke for binding points.

I'm really thinking its the spring. Because when I stretch it I can pull the pump handle back to cock. Then release the pump handle and without helping with my hand the handle moves all the way foreword. When the spring weakens it won't return to it's foreword firing position with out help. Other then that it's smooth. It just seems the spring gets worn down very easy.
