It wouldn't take much to glue a rubber seal on the flap. Then attach a hook/handle to clamp down over that screw. Instant breechloader..

that looks pretty sick, never seen anyone do it that way, before. might be tough to get the air inlets in the right place and you'd have to be really aggressive with sealing it. Even a small air leak could be a problem, and more importantly, you don't want to back to blow off when you try to fire the thing.

With a solid tube that isn't an issue, but I could see that thing just popping when it's fired and then the whole thing is useless.

From personal experience, I know that you can hold your bare hand over the breech end and the Nerf goes screaming out the barrel just as fast as when the breech is sealed. The Nerf is so light, it builds up very little pressure in the breech. Leakage affects are efficiency but otherwise is not a problem as long as it leaks the same amount each shot. My autoloader magazine has two PVC to PVC joints at each end with no seal. Leaks quite a bit but shot to shot velocity is consistent.

By holding the cap against your shoulder like a shoulder stock it would easily work with any kind of decent seal. It would not take much fabrication to Make an L shaped flip lever / locking mechanism that would swing down from the clamping bolt and hold the cap in place.

You can even use one of those white plastic baby safety latch to hold it close. The ones that are used on kitchen doors under the sink. Cheap and does the job.

Good idea! Haz. This isn't quite 'rocket science'. Most guys over build the breech loading system like it was a REAL rocket launcher. Been there, done that myself.
