I get asked about cold weather performance alot, so I'd thought I'd share my experience with the GT now that it is cold here in the Northwest US. It has been fairly warm here up until now,
Yesterday we played rec games all day in about 24 degrees F temperatures. Two of us had GTs, and they performed flawlessly. I did not break a ball in my GT all day with about 1 1/2 cases of Nelson Special Forces paint through it. Before going out in the cold, I installed a brand new battery, did a normal maintenance on the drive with the new formula Militia Lube, and set the dwell up to 14 with an ABS of 3 applied. It was very consistant on the chrono, gentle on paint, and no bolt stick or first shot drop off.
The DXs we were using did great as well with a dwell of 12, ABS of 4, and a fresh duracell battery. I had loaned out my DX, and it did great after installing a new battery- no drop off and absolutely no barrel breaks or chops.
If you are playing in cold weather, just take the precautions I did and they should do fine.
