What's your budget?
Here is my breakdown...
Mini V3 with shockwave board used on here are going about $175-$225. Get a fore grip extender and you have an Axe, minues the on/off ASA and trigger.
A rake trigger is $30 new. If you want the on/off ASA, that's a little more $$$.
However a Axe is $300+ for a used one and needs nothing to play on the big stage (as long as it's not the Optimus board). You can have a fully modded mini for the price of a stock Axe.
I feel both are good markers and not much is different other than how much space for your hand.

the axe fits better in my hands and I like it better than the mini. You can buy a used one for like $100 or so more than a mini so its really worth it. Shockwave board is a must for either though

i personally got a mini as my first electronic paintball marker. love it upgraded the barrel to a knight stick and that's been all. never have had any problems and its a great gun for the money. i would suggest looking for the 3rd generation mini heard problems with air leaks with the first two generations

I own an Axe and live the on/off ASA, but like how tight the mini is too. Both will run great and both can be modded like crazy too

What kind of choice is this? Axe by far unless you want to save a couple hundred bucks and go with something that is more affordable and still preforms well.

the axe is a better marker unless you cannot afford it. Then go for the mini

if you do have the money to spend on a axe and your a new player i would recommend that over a mini. there much easier to work on and having the feauter with the bolt the slids out with a twist and push of a button over the mini thats bolt is screwed in, makes it easy for cleaning at the feild if a ball brakes.
