It's more about matching your tank output pressure to your regulator. For example, lets say you put an AKA 2 litre on your dm. If you choose the low pressure spring for the reg you want to set your ninja tank to 400-500 psi. If the reg is set to high pressure, you want 800 psi coming out of your tank.

If you're just using the hyper 3 I wouldn't bother messing with tank pressures. Just leave it at 800 or whatever is standard for your tanks regulator and let it be.

thats not very true...

btw 450-550 is a great pressure to run dm's at. but 800 is fine

It's still kinda true though. It's a good idea to have a 200-400psi differential between the HPR and the tank reg to help prevent shootdown, especially if you don't have a high flow tank reg. However, with regs with really good flow this, kinda, goes out the window (see Ninja SLP). I think as a general rule of thumb (for all markers), it still holds true, but there are some specific cases where it doesn't apply.

Shoot down hasn't really been possible since the dm3. No gun uses the crazy volumes of air anymore and hprs recharge too fast . Set it to 400 and you will be fine . I personally never noticed a difference switching tank pressure on the same gun unless it was a BL gun and there all you got was a little more efficiency (like 1 pod max)
