Sounds like you wish to redefine yourself by eliminating objects that demonstrate the thinking of "past-you"; someone you've grown distant of due to some sort of personal development. "Future-you" only needs a computer, bike, skis, and photogear because nothing else matters; those activities currently define you, so why have anything else in your life?

On the other hand, your environment only does so much in shaping your personality. If you think selling your stuff will induce brain changes, go ahead. You may be disappointed to find that often times change happens slowly inside yourself - and as slowly as the outside world appears to.
Its partially the redefining aspect, sure. But i feel so weighed down, and distracted, by these frills of living that ive accumulated during life. I feel very transient right now, and want my living to reflect that, and be able to freely move about as I wish.

Also the extra cash isnt gonna be a bad thing.

In a pretty **** mood this whole semester for various reasons, but have the distinct feeling that I want to run off somewhere without word to anyone but my family and start something new. This is a rather constant idea in my head, though, im not sure if im tired of my life as it is or what, but Im not doing what I want right now. Dangerous idea, at that.

is it important to register your products with Canon? are there any benefits?

is simply writing down your serial numbers enough?

Consider that it is possible to run off to somewhere and let noone know without actually physically leaving behind your responsibilities. Pick up a good book. Get a new hobby that you absorb yourself in. Take some new classes. Next semester I'm taking a Cal 2, Game Theory, Java, and... sculpture. It's good to release into something new. I reached a similar point earlier in the semester. I started rock climbing. It has been one of the greatest changes in my life.

Been picking up the camera more lately- made me think of you guys. Took a buncha 120 on a recent hiking trip, in order to get a couple more rolls in before I sell the Hassy. It gets in wednesday, i'm excited to post it.

I have a few rolls of 120 that are developed, they just need to be scanned so I can get a better look at them. Some of them are kind of throwaways, but there's some that I really, really liked just looking at the negatives. Metering with my head was kind of a trip, but a good growing experience

Ever done any printing? My buddy is an art major at my school. I've been to their print lab and seen his prints... the difference between a well done hand printed image and a digital printed image is crazy

By hand, no. I usually just get prints from WHCC if/when the mood strikes me to get my work printed.

If it's not a USM lens, you're going to hear and feel the motor. A lot.

If it is USM, it's much much more subtle, but still there.

Nice, can't wait to hear the verdict on if I'm getting that Mamiya or not.
