There are a few possibilities:
1. Your tank has too low of a pressure
2. The rear main spring has too much tension (not allowing the striker to catch on the sear).
3. Your oring on your striker is damaged and needs to be replaced.
4. The rubber buffer is between the valve and the striker (it should be behind the striker).
5. Your valve is backwards.
