Sounds good to me. I might have some overtime opportunities at work as well. Might be able to pick up another AR upper.

Anyone have any preferences on .22s? I am leaning towards the Ruger 10/22 but I am looking for other opinions.

Bolt action or semi-auto? 10/22 is a good little gun, and you can upgrade them to hell if you really feel like it. For a plinker, I'd say it can't be beat.

Semi-Auto is what I am looking for. Thats mainly what I want, I want something that I can go shoot all day long at what ever I want and spend $5.

Go with the 10/22, then. You can do whatever you want with it, and make it as accurate as you'd like.

Marlin Model 60 will be more accurate than a 10/22, and cheaper. New mfg 10/22s kinda suck.

So the LGS has a HK MR762A1 that I picked up and really liked so I put a deposit on it. How overpriced are these? Assuming I have the money to burn is this still a bad idea?

HK = Very overpriced. You're seriously thinking about spending $3k+ on an AR rifle that shoots .308?
Even Mark LaDouche doesn't charge that much for his stuff.
Edit- That may have seemed a bit harsh. HK works, but so do LMT, LaRue, DPMS, etc, for a smaller price. Hundreds of dollars difference for the LaRue and LMT, a couple thousand for the DPMS. $3k is a lot of money to be dropping on a rifle, you should save money where you can.

Yeah I'd agree with that after doing a little more research. It was totally an impulse move. I think I'll be putting the deposit on something else. Not having shot anything even similar I don't think I should jump right into the high-end. Thanks.

About to buy one of these strictly as a plinker for the range
http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/p...ducts_id/48302
anyone ever shoot one? The ugliness I can get over, and the reviews look great. Lifetime transferable warranty, and made in the USA.

The one I borrowed to make a holster for would not fire more than 3 shots in a row, ever.

From what I've read, its the magazines not being worn in and the rounds not feeding. A video I saw, the guy said leave the magazines loaded to help break them in.

explain. The videos I've seen make it out to be a pretty decent pistol. I'm not looking for amazing accuracy or reliability. Just something cheaper to shoot at the range than my .357

Actually, cycling magazines does more to break them in than just leaving them stored.
Anyway, go ahead and buy it. Most everyone says they work just fine. And for less than $200, it's not a huge loss if it just decides to **** in your hands one day.

Buy two so if one sucks the other one will likely work a little. Foolproof.

Thats all I want. Im not looking to carry, or even use for home defense. Just something to have fun with at the range. If it stops working in a year, then oh well. But the no questions lifetime warranty is nice regardless.

Or he could buy just 1 used G17 and have a gun that will out last him.

I don't think there is anything wrong with jumping into something high end. If that's what you want, then you should get it.
If you've got 3k to drop on a rifle though, why not just build one? It would be cheaper and you could get exactly what you want.
