My NZXT fan controller is flipping out. It keeps beeping at me, and the temperature at all 5 points is flashing. No idea why.

Meh. I got it for like $8 black friday '11. I haven't had a single problem with it, it runs all of my fans perfectly.

Anyone tried the mech keyboard from Logitech? It has Cherry browns and I kind of want a mech keyboard with backlit keys.

It's not a bad keyboard. It just isn't a full mech keyboard. The top row is still rubber dome keys... but you don't usually type on those keys.

Go for it Colin... I haven't read any bad things about the keyboard. Just the mech elitist pointing out that it isn't a full mech. Like I said... it's only the top row that isn't mech... which we hardly use anyway.

Spend a little extra on the GPU if you can, a 660Ti or 670 would be more than worth it. Otherwise a solid build.
Optional enhancements would be a Solid State Drive (OCZ Vertex 4 or Samsung 830 or Samsung 840) and a nice heat sink for the CPU (Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo or Cooler Master H100i) so you can overclock to 4.5Ghz comfortably.
Congrats man. Welcome to the addiction.
Make sure you're memory settings are set the XMP profile in the BIOS. Otherwise you might get erratic errors over time, like the post above.
Congrats man. Make sure you try to get some pictures of the rig posted.

FSX needs a better CPU then it does Graphics card so that's why I went with a lower GPU .. Upgraded my build a little , Added better memory ,better motherboard & cool master Heatsink/fan

This build is overclockable at about 4.2Ghz range so FSX will run really nice on this!

FSX needed a good CPU when it came out. CPUs have come a long way since then, pretty much anything current should do fine with it as long as it's not super entry-level.

They've had some serious QC problems with that board. LEDs going out like crazy. Ducky Shine II would be leaps and bounds better. Deck would be another solid option, albeit pricier.
All the LEDs/Switch combos your heart desires. Okay, maybe not but it's pretty close!

Not sure why you would want rubber domes on a mechanical keyboard, especially when you're dropping $100 on it. I'm not a mech elitist either, I just don't see the point in getting something that's only partly mechanical for the price of a full mech keyboard.

They're essentially extremely stiff blues. 80 cN (activation force) v. 50 cN for the blues. When I ordered my sample kit, I played with the switches for about a week while shopping for a new keyboard around ~$100 and I kept flipping between the Blue/Red switches, and occasionally the Browns. I hated the Black switches though. I kept doing research about switches/boards and came across some of the "rarer" switches and learned about the Greens thinking I would hate them because I hated how stiff the Blacks were. I made some 'ghetto greens' by taking the spring from the black switch (60 cN) and placing it in the Blue switch. I fell in love with how it felt despite it being about 20 cN less than the real thing, and pulled the trigger on the QFR because they had some in stock, and Cooler Master uses the same OEM as Filco for the Quick Fire's, so I knew I was getting a solid board while saving $50-75. I'm glad I spent the extra time researching it because I enjoy the Greens much more than any other switch.

I'll second the ducky shine 2, I bought one awhile back and could not be happier. Only bad part was the tenkeyless ones weren't listed on tiger imports when I bought mine.
