When I called for my unemployment, I was told I can only collect till the end of the month, when all 2nd and 3rd extensions are done forever even tho I only collected one week of my 2nd extension. I cant reapply for a new claim till Jan 19th. This will be my 3rd straight year I had to file. I have been only averaging 9 to 10 months of work last 3 years. In michigan, once you run thru their unemployment the had you do federal extensions, even tho you had enough hours for a new file. That way in didnt come out of state coffers. But was a little surprised you couldnt finish out your extension. Hope your job still keeps going, or if you are on an 2 or 3 ext you are screwed too.

Arkansas unemployment laws are similar to those in Michigan. I still had hours remaining on claims #1 & 2 and was forced to refile. I'm in the same boat you are.

The system is run by bureaucratic *******s who literally do not care about you or I.

Yeh if you were on 2 ext you are screwed, you cant refile till you have at least 6 months of full time work if it is the same as Michigan. Thankfully I averaged 9 months last 3 yrs so have enough hours for a new claim. I say screw it, I paid into it for 23 years, and only had to use it the last 3 years, I am taking it. Hopefully I put enough away to pay my taxes andcsupplement unenjoyment.
